The Andrea Beaton/Dick Hensold concert this Saturday, January 16 CANCELLED! Due to delays in receiving a visa from the US State Department, Andrea has had to cancel her tour, including her show at Caltech. We hope to reschedule this show, but it will take time to work this out. We are sorry for this late notice, but since there was no reason to believe that the papers would not come through in a timely manner, all parties hung onto the hope that they would indeed arrive. The final decision to cancel the tour was made today, Wednesday, January 13.
If you have already purchased tickets from the Ticket Office, including online tickets, please call them at (626) 395-4652 to make arrangements for a refund. If you are able to visit the Ticket Office and bring the tickets with you, that is probably the most efficient way to do this. We know that there are some 50 tickets that have been sold. Their hours are 9AM-4PM Monday through Friday. If you bought tickets at a recent Folk Music Society concert, we can refund your money at a future show, or you can send a message to [email protected] and we will work with you on this. We are very sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment, but we unfortunately didn’t have any control over the situation. Needless to say, the performers are quite sorry for this turn of events. Watch this space and get on our email list to learn of progress on rescheduling this show.
The Pasadena Folk Music Society is looking forward to great year of music in 2016 with a diverse range of great performers coming up. We will start out with a fine Celtic show featuring Andrea Beaton and Dick Henshold on Saturday, January 16. Andrea is an amazing Cape Breton style fiddler steeped in the music- she is cousin of Natalie MacMaster and daughter of Buddy McMaster). Dick Hensold plays the Northumbrian smallpipes, reel pipes, and whistles. They will be joined by guitarist, Dean Magraw and together they make wonderful music, as you can hear in a set of Cape Breton jigs. See Andrea’s web site and Dick’s.
