Listen to the Kathy Kallick Band as You Get Ready for our Nov. 16th Concert

“You’ll marvel at the individual virtuosity, group cohesiveness, and beautifully-sung Kallick originals that express both timely pessimism and tireless hope.”
– Derk Richardson, Oakland Magazine

The Lonesome Chronicles, was released in October 2023, and contains six powerful new Kathy Kallick compositions. She is accompanied by the stellar musicians who have been with her for nearly 15 years: Annie Staninec (fiddle), Greg Booth (dobro & banjo), Tom Bekeny (mandolin), and Cary Black (bass), all of whom provide sterling harmonies. The album also contains new tunes written by Greg and Tom, plus thrilling covers of songs learned from the Osborne Brothers, Earl Scruggs, Bill Monroe, John Prine, and others. Listen to the album on bandcamp, where it is also available for purchase.

Pasadena Weekly’s Executive Editor, Christina Fuoco-Karasinski, ran a fantastic interview with Kathy Kallick before the canceled Aug 3rd concert. It provides background into Kathy’s early life and inspirations that have led her to become “one of the greatest bluegrass vocalists of her generation or any other,” (according to Bluegrass Unlimited magazine).

BlueGrass Today’s interview with fiddler Annie Staninec can be found here.  She is a California native and part of the first-generation California Bluegrass Association youth movement. Annie has been in Kathy’s band for about 15 years now.
