Montana natives turned Angelenos, Joselyn Wilkinson and Don Barrozo each created music for years with strong, distinctive voices before they put together their first album as a duo in 2020 – “Soar” with gripping songs such as Wayfarer’s Son and Trouble. Their brilliant third album, “Lost & Found Highway,” will be released next month, with songs including Workin’ the Hi-Line and Girl from the Mountain.
Recordings of the songs Better Days and Water’s Edge are better introductions to The Odd Birds than any descriptions can be, and it’s even better to experience them live in concert. Jennifer Moraca and Ron Grigsby create music about connections lost and found, performed with a captivating and intimate sound. A review by Rocking Magpie says, “wowza,” and “The couple sound like they’re singing on Townes Van Zandt’s front porch on the tear-inducing and heart-breaking Drowning Rain.”
