POSTPONED: Robin & Linda Williams
Friday, April 26, 2019 @ 8:00 pm
$25UPDATE: The new date for this show is October 26, 2019. Learn more.
We apologize for the last minute postponement, but Linda Williams had to have an unanticipated ankle surgery on Thursday, April 18 and she won’t be able to put any weight on it for at least 3 weeks. The Folk Music Society, as well as Robin and Linda, are very sorry to make this late change.
Because rescheduling an entire tour can be a tricky thing, the soonest we can probably even hope for would be an October date, but we will let you know. We, including Robin & Linda Williams, are very disappointed with this turn of events. Join our mailing list and you’ll be informed about a new date when we have one.
We finally managed to arrange to have Robin and Linda Williams make their way out from the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia to California! They will be bringing their vast treasure chest of tremendous original material, songs by contemporary artists and time honored numbers from the Appalachian and blues traditions. They combine their guitars and banjo with wonderful harmonies and solo vocals, and we always know they’ll have a great show for us. If you haven’t heard one of their shows before, you may be familiar with their music from the long running Prairie Home Companion radio show, Robert Altman’s last film, Prairie Home Companion (the movie), or the Hopeful Gospel Choir along with Garrison Keillor and Kate MacKenzie. They have put out some very fine albums over the years, and we are very pleased to be welcoming them back to Pasadena. This is a rare (for us) Friday show, so make note and clear the calendar!
Tickets are $25 for adults and $5 for Caltech students and children. They can be purchased on the phone (626-395-4652) with a credit card (a service charge will be added per order), purchased at the Caltech Public Events Ticket Office in the Spalding Building (California Blvd. and Wilson Avenue) for face value (open Monday-Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 pm.), or purchased at the door for cash or check (no credit cards.) You can get them online, too (for a fee) until Wednesday, April 24 here. Occasionally, a show will be sold out before the day of the show, so call the Ticket Office, if you are planning to buy tickets at the door. Better yet, join our mailing list and you’ll be informed about such situations ahead of time.
