From dance floors to concert halls, the Syncopaths bring a fresh, contemporary spin to tunes and songs rooted in the Scottish, Irish, and American folk traditions. Evolving through their contradance origins, they are creating a “chamber folk” sound, characterized by the compelling rhythmic interplay of fiddle and mandolin, rich vocals, and unexpected colors and rhythms of the piano and bodhrån. The exuberant joy they derive from the music and each other is palpable and contagious.

Purchase Advance Tickets Online and By Phone

Tickets are $25 each plus a $4 convenience fee. Tickets are $10, without a fee, for Caltech students and anyone 16 or younger. Available online and by phone, the Caltech Ticket Office (626-395-4652) hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays. In-person purchases at the ticket office avoid the convenience fee. The office is on the first floor of Caltech’s Keith Spalding Building, 1200 East California Boulevard, Pasadena.

Sales at the door, if tickets are still available, will be by cash or check only, with no handling fee.

Parking

Free parking, including handicap parking, is available in the lot north of Beckman Auditorium, off Michigan Avenue just south of Del Mar Boulevard. This lot might fill up, especially if there are other events on campus that night. You can find additional parking for our shows in two parking structures on Wilson Avenue in the first block south of Del Mar. On weekends and after 6 p.m., parking is allowed even in spaces labeled with individual names. On this Caltech campus map, Beckman Auditorium is #91, Beckman Institute is #74 and the parking structures are #123 and #124. Also, street parking is available along Wilson Avenue and some other nearby streets.
