New World String Project with Stuart Mason, John Weed, Lisa Lynne and Aryeh Frankfurter.

Saturday, August 25, 2018 @ 8:00 pm

$20

Take four highly skilled and well known multi-instrumentalists and put them together to create an exciting weave of music rooted in the Celtic, Nordic and American folk traditions. Ancient and modern sounds mingle freely on Swedish nyckelharpa, Celtic harp, fiddle, guitar, cittern, bouzouki, and more. Join the New World String Project for a musical ride that will shake your boots, uplift your spirit and warm your heart. This new band consists of Stuart Mason and John Weed, who are members of Molly’s Revenge (who have played our series twice) and Lisa Lynne and Aryeh Frankfurter, who have performed in various configurations (they performed in our series twice with Patrick Ball). We’re very excited to have them! They bring a unique combination of instruments and style together and you will really like the music. Their web site is Newworldstringproject.com. We’ll tell you more in the near future.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for Caltech students and children. They can be purchased on the phone (626-395-4652) with a credit card (a service charge will be added per order), purchased at the Caltech Public Events Ticket Office in the Spalding Building (California Blvd. and Wilson Avenue) for face value (open Monday-Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 pm.), or purchased at the door for cash or check (no credit cards.) Online ticket sales will be available soon. Occasionally, a show will be sold out before the day of the show, so call the Ticket Office, if you are planning to buy tickets at the door. Better yet, join our mailing list and you’ll be informed about such situations ahead of time.
