Bravo! Loved It!! So What’s Next?

Thank you Broceliande for a fabulous concert! A lovely collection of music spanning 7 centuries was enjoyed by all. Joining the chorus of a hearty Wassail lit up the evening. And yes, Kris did explain what that instrument is she’s holding – it’s a Nyckelharpa.

Amelia Hogan with the Flight Crew on Jan 10th

Amelia is an impeccably authentic singer of Celtic music and her heart comes through in honeyed tones on Irish, Scottish, British, and American styled vocals. She sings in the Irish music tradition of Sean-Nós, or “old style” as well as accompanied. Amelia also plays bodhran and a small 22 string Welsh lap harp. She sings both traditional and contemporary folk music with lilting graces and sublety, weaving a mysterious old magic that takes the listener out of time and place.

Legendary Scottish Singer Jim Malcolm share’s Valentines Day with us on Feb 14th

Much loved singer-songwriter Jim Malcolm joins us for Valentine’s Day to share music and stories.

As both singer and songwriter, Jim Malcolm is one of the most distinctive voices in Scottish music, “one of the finest singing voices in Scotland in any style”. He was lead singer of the phenomenal Scottish band Old Blind Dogs for seven years, touring extensively throughout Europe and North America and playing at many of the biggest folk festivals. In 2004, Jim was songwriter of the year in the Scots Trad Music Awards, and he has been nominated three times for Scots Singer of the Year. He has a huge repertoire of songs from the Scottish tradition and is a noted interpreter of Burns. These old songs are complemented by his own original and award-‐winning songs, which are at once completely modern and accessible, yet an authentic addition to the canon of  Scottish music.
